About Us | Maidir Linne

Cork City Libraries is a service of Cork City Council. Cork City Libraries provides a range of library and information services to the people of Cork, and, through our websites, to anyone interested in the history and culture of Cork. The Cork City Libraries network comprises of the City Library, local libraries, a service to housebound persons, and an online presence. We provide books, CDs, DVDs, videos and audiobooks, for use within the library or for home use, and a full range of learning, reference and information services and resources, in particular at the City Library. We also provide computers with fast Internet access throughout our network of libraries, and eBooks and audiobooks downloadable to users’ own devices.

Visitors are welcome to use our facilities free of charge for on-site reading and enquiries. Registered membership entitles members to borrow items (books, CDs, DVDs) for home use. Internet access and Wi-Fi is available. Enquiries can be made in person, by telephone, letter, or email and are welcome from everybody; whether members or not.

Parents are responsible for their children's safety and behaviour at all times in our libraries.

The City Library and Bishopstown Library are open six days per week, Monday to Saturday, and our other local libraries are open Tuesday to Saturday (except for Saturdays of public-holiday weekends).

Online

We provide online access to our catalogue in our libraries or through our website www.corkcitylibraries.ie.

You can join the library online, or manage your loans and reserves online. You can read ebooks, emagazines, enewspapers, stream music, take online classes, browse online exhibitions, attend online events , all free. Browse our online section, or search for your topic using the search bar at the top right of every webpage.
